Japanese violinist Mikela Asano began playing the violin at the age of four. She is the winner of the Bach Hall Competition and has given numerous performances in Japan. She studied at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music between 2006 and 2013 and received a Performer Diploma, Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Violin Performance. A dedicated teacher, Asano was a part of Indiana University String Academy and the Fairview Elementary School Violin Project in Indiana, and is currently a violin instructor at Napa Valley Language Academy.
