Single level California ranch home overlooking our private meadow surrounded by forest and a massive oak tree. The comfortable bungalow style interior with chef's kitchen and open floor plan is ideal for a family retreat or two couples exploring the coast. The master suite contains its own freestanding gas fireplace, a huge new deck with spa, and oversized stone shower. Two bedrooms have comfortable queen beds; the third is small containing an oversized chair that pulls-out to a single bed but this room works best as a den, walk in closet, or small child’s room. The hidden garden, protected by tall deer fence, is planted with fresh vegetables of the season, herbs, and fruit. The meditation area, with fountain runs off a solar panel. End the day under a blanket of stars in the middle of the field with an outdoor living room built of Santa-Fe slate and the tops of redwood trees. There is a fire pit to melt desert. Swimming pool passes at the Trout Farm Inn are available.
Relatively secluded but an easy drive to town and beaches. The world famous Santa Cruz Wharf and Beach Boardwalk, and the fabulous West Cliff Drive are found within 10 miles of our bungalow. We are just a few steps from the Sunset Trail at the Quail Hollow Ranch Park and Nature Preserve in the Santa Cruz Mountains, where Ben Lomond Bungalow marries romance and adventure in grand style. Big Sur and San Francisco and all the all the treasures between (Monterey, Carmel, Point Lobos, Franklin Point, Pigeon Point, Los Gatos, and Saratoga) are available as day trips from this central location.
Roaring Camp Railroad hosting the 'Santa Cruz County Lights Train' and the 'Santa Cruz Holiday Tree Walk' is found with two miles of our home. The 'Lighted Boat Parade' sponsored by the 'Santa Cruz Yacht' features 50 beautifully- decorated power and sailboats parading throughout the 'Santa Cruz Harbor. Charter boats are available.
'Elephant Seals at Ano Nuevo' arrive every winter to give birth and mate. Or visit 'Natural Bridges' State Park to watch the Monarch Butterflies form a 'city in the trees' mid Oct. to Feb. each year.
